Indigenous Community Volunteers

Our appraoch

Indigenous Community Volunteers (ICV) aims to work with sponsors to develop and nurture active partnerships built on ongoing commitment, mutual understanding and respect, as these are essential for its long-term success. It is the only organisation that offers this wide support to Indigenous communities.

ICV will also work closely with each supporting corporation, trust or philanthropic organisation to develop a sponsorship proposal and agreement which fits with the donor organisation's sponsorship principles and criteria. The agreement will clearly set out sponsors' expectations.

The main categories for support are:

  • financial support
  • staff volunteer programs - part of a corporation's training/volunteering program
  • in-kind support (goods and services)

Corporate or sponsorship funding will enable Indigenous Community Volunteers (ICV) to work with Indigenous communities to:

  • acquire new skills that will give communities the expertise to pursue their goals
  • acquire knowledge which will allow people to manage their own affairs on their terms
  • improve job and business prospects which affect their community's long term prospects, and
  • ultimately benefit all Australians
