Shell in Australia has recently become ICV’s newest partner. Shell has committed $50,000 over the coming 12 months in support of five ICV projects covering Childcare, Legal Mediation and corporate governance. Shell’s decision to support ICV is part of its commitment to improving socio-economic outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

ICV is pleased to have Shell’s support for our skills transfer program. Skills transfer enables Indigenous communities, businesses and individuals achieve their goals and Shell is helping this happen.

In addition to helping financially ICV also looks forward to exploring opportunities for Shell employees to participate as volunteers. ICV would like to thank Shell for its valuable contribution to our program.

The Myer Foundation - Helping Kids Get A Head Start
Several hundred Indigenous children across Australia have benefited from the generous financial support The Myer Foundation has provided to assist ICV and Indigenous communities fight against ear and eye infections.

Healthy ears and eyes give kids a great chance at school. It makes a difference to the way that they learn. It is generally agreed that early intervention is the best way to address downstream issues of unemployment and poverty.

In 2005, The Myer Foundation contributed $50,000 to assist ICV to support projects which increased the knowledge and skills of parents, guardians and community people in the care of young children’s ears and eyes to prevent problems arising and give them the best chance at learning.

ICV provided Western Australian Volunteer Dr Adrianna Lee to join the Ear Bus Project. The Ear Bus Project is an initiative that works with Aboriginal people in the examination and referral of children who have eye or ear concerns needing further attention.

ICV would like to thank The Myer Foundation for supporting such valuable skills transfer projects.

The Myer Foundation works to build a fair, just, creative and caring society by supporting initiatives that promote positive change in Australia, and in relation to its regional setting. To find out more visit their www.myerfoundation.org.au.
