Central Australia brush with the National Capital.

A group of Aboriginal women artists from the desert near Alice Springs spent several days in the nation’s capital working with carers and Indigenous youth.

The seven Indigenous Community Volunteers (ICV) normally spend their time painting at the Tapatjatjaka Art and Craft Centre in the small community of Titjikala about 107 kilometres south of Alice Springs.

However for five days they first took part in a retreat in the ACT for Canberra Indigenous women who are carers for their menfolk.

They then conducted art workshops with the young people at the Gugan Gulwan Youth Aboriginal Corporation located in the inner south of Canberra.
