Arts or small business volunteer needed
Do you have experience in building a small business? Do you want to pass on your knowledge to emerging Indigenous artists?
We’re on the lookout for two suitable volunteers to help mentor emerging Indigenous artists in he lead up to the Cairns Indigenous Beautiful Art Spaces project in August 2012 which is followed by the well renowned Cairns Indigenous Art Fair.
The project will provide artists with low cost access to empty shopfronts and retail spaces in the Cairns CBD and Cairns Regional Council showroom venues to use as display areas.
You will mentor the emerging artists and help them to build community engagement relations, marketing activities, presentation and assist with the development of business skills in the art industry.
It’s also envisaged that the activities above will help to engage the general public to learn more about indigenous culture from the interesting art pieces on show.
Curatorial or visual arts knowledge or experience is preferable.
