Photography and design volunteer needed in West Arnhem Land

Love taking photos that have a story to go with them? Want to make a positive change for the next generation?
Warruwi in West Arnhem Land is a community working with ICV to deliver a wide range of positive, sustainable outcomes.
ICV is working closely with a newly opened crèche, which helps provide not only a childcare facility for the working Warruwi families but also an educational experience for the community children.
Warruwi has identified the need to develop a collection of local resources including a series of booklets with photos and texts describing everyday activities in and around the community.
The volunteer needed to help with this project must be able to teach adult learning to the Indigenous women of the community, knowing that English may be a second or third language with known barriers around literacy and numeracy.
The volunteer will need to have experience in photography, photo editing, computer skills and a strong understanding of Publisher. A sense of humour is very useful as these booklets are meant to be educational but most importantly fun.
Several community members have gained some photography skills and will be working with the successful volunteer.
The project will run for four weeks commencing from Monday 23rd July 2012.
This volunteer opportunity is archived and no longer accepting applicants.
