A Groundbreaking Alliance between Community First Development and Pawanka Fund

In an inspiring move towards a future where Indigenous voices lead the conversation on global sustainability and advancing Indigenous rights, Community First Development and Pawanka Fund have forged a groundbreaking Relationship Agreement.

This alliance is more than just a partnership; it's a bold commitment to championing Indigenous communities and bringing their wisdom to the forefront of global discussions.

We have been transforming community development with our Indigenous-centered approach for over two decades. Our deep-seated respect for Indigenous knowledge and self-agency beautifully aligns with Pawanka Fund's mission to empower Indigenous Peoples around the world. Since its inception from the Indigenous Ways of Knowing and Learning Fund in 2014, Pawanka Fund has been at the forefront of supporting Indigenous-led initiatives across seven sociocultural regions, showcasing the power of trust-based relationships and the revival of Indigenous knowledge systems.

This partnership will tackle the critical challenges facing Indigenous Peoples today, including climate change and economic marginalisation, through joint fundraising efforts and a strong presence in global agendas. By uniting our strengths, we aim to amplify Indigenous voices and chart a path towards a sustainable and equitable future, grounded in Indigenous wisdom and resilience.

As we look forward to the 10-year celebrations of Pawanka Fund in September 2024, the spotlight will shine on this transformative alliance. This milestone event promises to not only celebrate the achievements of this partnership but also to inspire a global audience with the potential of Indigenous-led change.

In a world where collaboration is the key to overcoming our greatest challenges, our partnership with Pawanka Fund exemplifies the power of unity. Together, we are setting a new precedent for how we support Indigenous rights, preserve cultural heritage, and pave the way for meaningful change.

We are embarking on this journey with open hearts and minds, as we write a new chapter in our story of Indigenous empowerment. This collaboration is a testament to the strength found in shared purpose and the unyielding belief in a better future for all, led by the wisdom, justice, and hope of Indigenous Peoples.

Community First Development and Pawanka Fund both recognise the importance of self-determination, and we are committed to supporting Indigenous communities to shape their own futures.
