Paul is a long-time supporter of Community First Development and recently offered to extend his already generous support by becoming a volunteer!

Paul is very experienced in the tourism area. He is assisting Taarna Enterprises Aboriginal Corporation with a 3 part project to reach their overall dream of setting up an arts and culture space on their land. Community member Mary said “it will provide a space for tourists to come and purchase Indigenous arts and crafts. Have a space for artists to work. Have a retail space. A café space. Local young Indigenous minds can use the space to connect with non-Indigenous people".

One of the projects Paul is assisting with is creating a business plan for the arts/ culture space. When we asked Paul what motivates him to donate and volunteer, he said,

“I recognise how fortunate I am and, as a result of that, there is a real onus to do something. Actions really do matter, and money helps too… Each project has been a really rich and engaging experience, and quite humbling. It’s very inspiring and uplifting. There’s a great sense of ambition and optimism for the future.”

Our Senior Community Development Officer Alex said,

“Paul was amazing! I can’t wait to see what Taarna and Paul produce together.”

Paul and Taarna continue to work hard and make progress. There is a lot of work to be done and we can’t wait to share more updates about this project with you soon!
