Visiting communities in the beautiful Kakadu - Northern Territory

Ashlee’s business Deadly Cleaners has been making great headway with customers in her community.

When our Senior Community Development Officer, Tania, was invited to speak to several groups about some potential projects, she was delighted to take a trip to Jabiru and Cooinda in the beautiful Kakadu.

It was a wonderful chance for Tania to travel with a lawyer from Northern Land Council and spend the first day in their offices in Jabiru yarning with Ashlee from Deadly Cleaners about her work in neighbouring communities.

Tania shared “Ashlee has been running Deadly Cleaners for 2-3 years and is making great headway with new customers and getting some big contracts with government organisations. To start with, we are in discussion about assisting Ashlee with the growth of her business.”

Tania also met with a family group that is working with Parks Northern Territory and Northern Land Council to re-open the old Aurora site which has been closed for two years.

Tania explained, “They and other Traditional owner groups have just recently been handed their ancestral lands back after fighting for 45 years. We are in discussion about assisting them and where to start first.”

Tania’s third meeting was with the Murrumburr group at Cooinda — “They are currently in the process of securing the Cooinda Lodge and Yellow Water cruise. They’re looking at some assistance from us to help with quite a few different areas. Watch this space!” We always love the opportunity to be out in community — engaging and connecting to see how we can assist people. Thank you for your support to help us go where we’re needed most.
